Suspects involved in assassinating Mytel’s general manager arrested

Suspects involved in the assassination of U Thein Aung, General Manager of the Mytel Head Office, were arrested with the cooperation of the people.
U Thein Aung was murdered while going for a walk with his wife in the housing compound on the morning of 4 November 2021. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife was wounded.
Security forces worked hard to prevent such kinds of incidents and to arrest those who were involved in the murder, and with the cooperation of the people, Sitt Zaw Kan (a) Hantha Tun, 19, who was a suspect of the killing, was arrested together with Phyo Ei Kyaw, 24, in Mingaladon on 8 November.
According to the statement of defendant Sitt Zaw Kan, security forces arrested suspect Banya Soe Htet (a) Leo, 23, in Hline Township, and related suspect Sai Sithu, 35, in Taikkyi Township.
It is learnt that defendant Sitt Zaw Kan (a) Hantha Tun attended the explosive training course in the KNLA Brigade (6) area in April. He is the deputy leader of the Yangon Revolution Force-YRF, led by Okkar (yet to be arrested), and Banya Soe Htet (a) Leo was the third leader of the YRF, which was formed to commit terrorist acts across the city. Defendant Phyo Ei Kyaw is the YRF’s treasurer, who is in charge of the purchase of essential weapons/ammunition with the fund. They said Myanmar citizens living abroad, who support their terrorist acts, has been providing necessary funds and medical supplies.
Defendant Sitt Zaw Kan (a) Hantha Tun received three pistols, five magazines, and 121 bullets from Jame (YUG group) through Nga Kyar (Free Tiger Ranger-FTR) on 26 September, and he kept them at the hand of Banya Soe Htet (a) Leo. The YRF group planned to hide in the compound owned by suspect Sai Sithu near Ngasu village in Taikkyi Township, after carrying out the acts of terrorism.
According to their statements, Banya Soe Htet (a) Leo brought those weapons and went to murder U Thein Aung with Sitt Kan Zaw (a) Hantha Tun by a Hyundai Accent (white colour). Pho Thar and Thar Nge, who are yet to be arrested, followed them by two bicycles. On Konemyittha road, Sitt Zaw Kan (a) Hantha Tun got off the car, took the bicycle from Thar Nge. Thar Nge went by foot and shot U Thein Aung and his wife seven times with a pistol on Taynuyin street.
According to the statement of Sitt Kan Zaw (a) Hantha Tun and Banya Soe Htet (a) Leo, they were involved in killing grocery owner U Sann Linn and wife, on Okkyin Budayon road, in Hline Township on 5 August. They wore PPE suits and committed the crime with Aung Lay, and they received K700,000 for it from Jame (YUG group). Sitt Kan Zaw (a) Hantha Tun received three two-series homemade time bombs from the People Power Movement-PPM group on 21 October and these bombs was given to a member of Rangoon Urban Revolutionary-RUR to explode it near the EPC office on Pyay Road, Mayangon Township on 22 October.
The killing of business executives and destruction of commercial buildings were funded by terrorist group NUG to discontinue foreign businesses that are affiliated with the government in the country. The YRF group, which includes the arrested suspects, is mainly commanded by Jame (YUG) and has 12 terrorist groups under its control. Jame (YUG) has been linked to the terrorist group NUG / CRPH to get weapons and financial support and it is ordering the acts of terrorism.
It is reported that the arrested suspects will be taken action under the law, and the people are requested to work together for the peace and safety of the towns and villages by covertly providing information about the connected suspects to the relevant authority.—MNA
