Team Myanmar composes Group A of Asian Futsal Championship

Myanmar futsal team is placed in Group A of the Asian Futsal Championship following the drawing-lots event for the tourney held on 14 December.
Sixteen teams will compete in the final stage, which will be held in Thailand from 17 to 28 April 2024. Team Myanmar is placed in Group A with host Thailand, Viet Nam and China, while Group B sees Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Australia.
Japan will pass South Korea, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in Group C, while Iran will face Kuwait, Bahrain and Afghanistan in Group D.
This is the second time that the Myanmar team has been allowed to compete in the final stage of the Asia Cup futsal tournament and the first time since 2018.
The Myanmar team played against Tajikistan, India and Palestine in the previous qualifiers, finishing second in the group with six points to reach the final stage of the tourney. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
