One villager was shot dead by gun men at the COVID-19 medical checkpoint in Paikthin village, Myaing Township, Magway Region on 9 August.
When a total of five villagers were on duty at the check-point in the evening, about six terrorists came and handcuffed them and got them down on the ground. They set up two guards at the checkpoint, while others went to the village administrator’s house to search for the son of the administrator.
They returned to the gate after they had not found the son and shot one of the villagers to death at the gate. It is reported that terrorists drove towards the Pakokku-Myaing road.
