The main goal of the ministry is to generate and distribute electricity to the people promptly with minimal loss of power and full voltage, said Union Minister U Thaung Han for the Ministry of Electric Power and Ministry of Energy during a coordination meeting with the district-level electric managers/engineers of Mandalay Region yesterday.
The Union Minister said all should cooperate with officials while trying to supply electricity to the people in full without reducing the load. The district/township electric managers, engineers and finance officials should supervise collecting electricity payments and deploy security in reading meter units and sending meter bills.
The Union minister also inspected the Yeywa hydropower station and power distribution system of Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation together with Mandalay Region Natural Resources Minister U Myo Aung on the same day.
During the inspection tour, the Union minister said the Yeywa hydropower station is the biggest and most reliable dam in the country. Therefore, it needs to carry out to ensure successive power generation by using the water effectively. Regular maintenance also should be undertaken for the strength of power stations and power generators.
The Ministry of Electric Power distributes power by increasing the ration time by the end of May. Similarly, the Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation invited tenders for a bill collecting system through computer and bill printing with the use of Myanmar Kyat on 17 May. — MNA
