The third day of the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition (Regional Level) was held at the Myanmar Convention Centre (MCC) on Mindhamma Road in Mayangon Township, Yangon at 8 am on 29 August.
In the morning, a new generation of young contestants competed in the amateur level 1 and 2 of the solo orchestra competition and the Ozi and Dobat troupe competitions in a groups.
In the afternoon, a troupe competition of the orchestra was held in separate groups, men’s and women’s events. U Bo Hein and troupe, and Pout Kyaw Ma and troupe entered the amateur level 1 competition; Zarmani Than Zaw and troupe, U Chit Su and troupe, U Aung Kyi Khaing and troupe, and Daw Myat Noe Khin and troupe entered the amateur level 2 competition. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional cabinet ministers, Yangon Region Advocate-General U Htay Aung in his capacity as Chairman of the Leading Organizing Committee for the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition, State, District and Township level departmental officials, officials from the Myanmar Music and Theatrical Associations, the Committee and Sub-committee members of the competition organizing, Chairman of the Myanmar Comedians Association U Dein Daung and members, a new generation of contestants and their families and the art lovers watched the contest and cheered them.
Afterwards, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and party greeted contestants and panels of judges of the competitions, it is learnt. —Ko Ko Zaw (MNA)
