Toll exemption allowed for EVs until 2025

EVs will be exempted from tolls from 1 April 2023 until 31 March 2025, according to the Ministry of Construction.
EVs do not need to pay tolls on all roads and bridges across the country, including the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, operated by the BOT system. Fees for the use of roads and bridges will be exempted on all regional and state roads and bridges for all EVs.
Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) are also exempted from registration fees imposed on imported vehicles, according to the Department of Road Transport Administration. —TWA/KZW
