The Trade Department under the Ministry of Commerce released a news bulletin 1/2024 on 11 April that it gave the go-ahead to container shipping to and fro Yangon-Kawthoung-Ranong for Myanmar-Thailand border trade.
This move is to ensure a fast and smooth trade flow. That border trade must be in accordance with the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) of the departments concerned, the Trade Department notified.
The SOPs include exports, imports and general categories. The related departments, the Trade Department, Customs Department, the mechanism One-Stop Shop (OSS) for border trade supervision, Myanma Port Authority, the Department of Immigration, exporters/importers and shipping liners have declared SOPs for each sector. — NN/KK
