Traditional Lethwei Tournament held in Myeik

A traditional Lethwei tournament named Township Sports and Physical Education Committee Chairman’s Cup was held at the District Gymnasium in Myeik, Taninthayi Region, on the morning of 30 March to develop the sports sector and produce a new generation of traditional Lethwei fighters.
The competition started with the participation of young people who were interested in the traditional Lethwei, and the contestants competed in a series of competitions, and the athletes were awarded prizes by the organizing committee.
There will be four special events for male fighters and three special events for female fighters.
The competition will be continued on 31 March.
According to the township Lethwei subcommittee, the new generation of traditional Lethwei fighters is continuously produced in Myeik, and the national team and national honorary fighters have been trained by Lethwei specialists. — Khaing Htoo (Myeik IPRD) /GNLM
