Two injured in truck accident on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway

On 12 March, a truck loaded with coconuts overturned and fell over the bridge on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, injuring two people.
The accident happened between Mileposts 38/6 and 38/7 at 6:30 am on 12 March. A Hino Ranger truck carrying coconuts from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw collided with the concrete guard wall on the side of the bridge and plunged.
Firemen from the Bawnetgyi Expressway Fire Station and Phayagyi Fire Station and members of the auxiliary fire brigade and the rescue team carried out rescue operations.
The truck driver and an extra hand sustained injuries and were taken to Bago People’s Hospital. — TWA/CT
