Two suspects receive 10-year prison term with hard labour for forcing girl into prostitution

The two people who forced a girl into prostitution received a 10-year prison term with hard labour in Nay Pyi Taw according to Zeyathiri District Court.
The two suspects Ma Moe Moe Htwe (aka) Ange Lay (aka) Katonema and Ma Yi Yi Lwin (aka) Ma Lwin and Ma San San Nwe (aka) Daw Toke (who is still at large) persuaded an 18-year-old girl from Pobbathiri Township with a promise of a job at military hospital (1,000-bed) in Tatkon Township, and then sent her to Thabyay Chaung village in Tatkon and forced her into prostitution.
The Htonepho Myoma police station opened a case under Section 24/32 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law and the suspects were prosecuted at Zeyathiri District Court.
Then, the court sentenced Ma Moe Moe Htwe (aka) Ange Lay (aka) Katonema and Ma Yi Yi Lwin (aka) Ma Lwin to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour under Section 24 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law, and Ma San San Nwe (aka) Daw Toke has been declared a fugitive under the Penal Code Section 87/88 on 6 October. —TWA/GNLM
