UMFCCI, Yunnan delegates discuss to bolster bilateral trade, investment

President U Aye Win of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and officials concerned met the delegation led by Mr Fan Tao, Deputy Director-General of the Yunnan Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, regarding investment and trade promotion between Myanmar and China on 29 November at the UMFCCI headquarter. The UMFCCI has been inviting foreign investors to accelerate the private sector’s economic growth and contribute to the State’s economic development.
In addition to cross-border trade, collaborations to boost bilateral investments, smooth transactions through Yuan-Kyat direct payment in trading, direct access of trucks at borders to facilitate freight forwarding, smooth export of agricultural produce to China and finding out ways to ensure an uninterrupted flow of production and trade to maintain machines and equipment were highlighted during the meeting.
Furthermore, Yunnan delegates also addressed their willingness to invest in the borders of Myanmar, Laos, and Viet Nam and to bolster bilateral investment through collaborative works in construction, garments, and commerce. — NN/EM
