Union Election Commission probes into political parties

The Union Election Commission looked into whether the political parties conducted systematically for the memberships of the parties, party funds and property, savings, maintaining, usage, audition and liquidation and parties’ procedures according to the Union Election Law Section 10 (l) “supervising, causing to supervise and guiding the political parties to carry out in accord with the law” (right photo).
The UEC inspected Union Territory-based NUD (National United Democratic Party) and Democratic Party of National Politics (DNP) from 23 to 30 August, Mandalay-based Tai-Leng (Red Shan) Nationalities Development Party (TNDP) and Wunthanu Democratic Party, Shan State-based Pa-O National Organization (PNO) and Union Pa-O National Organization, and Yangon-based National Political Alliances from 14 to 17 September, Yangon-based People’s Pioneer Party from 14 to 20 September, Shan State-based Danu National Democracy Party from 15 to 23 September, Shan State-based Inn National League Party and Danu National Organization from 20 to 23 September, Sagaing Region-based Shan-ni Solidarity Party (SSP) and Naga National Party (NNP) and Yangonl Region -based National Development and Peace Party from 20 to 24 September and Yangon Region- based National Development Party from 21 to 24 September.
The inspection team included officials of UEC, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Finance and Union Auditor-General Office. — MNA
