Union Industry Minister inspects factories and plantations in Shan State, Mandalay Region

Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than paid a visit to Shan State on the morning of 7 January.
He visited Ngwe Yee Pearl Co., Ltd.’s Crown Cement Plant in Nawnghkio Township and inspected the process of cement production.
During the inspection, he said that quality control systems should be put in place at every stage of production to ensure the quality of imported substitute products. He also asked officials to openly address the problems they are facing and coordinated the submissions.
Next, the Union Minister inspected Sammase sugarcane plantation and said that it is necessary to expand the cultivation so that there is no vacant land.
After that, the Union Minister visited No. 2 Sugar Mill (Inwaing) in Inwaing Village-tract, Nawnghkio Township, Kyaukme District, and inspected the stages of the sugar production process and the No. 3 Sugar Factory Project (Inwaing) project which is producing 12,000 tons of sugar per day.
At the soap factory (Mandalay) and inspected the production process and provide subsidies to the staff.
At No 33 Heavy Industry in Kyaukse Industrial Area, the Union Minister instructed officials to coordinate the supply of electricity from the waste-to-energy power plant to the grid and not to harm the natural environment. He also said that efforts should be made to meet the domestic demand for cement and to participate in regional development activities as much as possible.
Afterwards, the Union Minister and party inspected sewing of H @ M brand warm jacket, shorts, long pants and women’s clothing at the sewing factory leased to Sein Shwe Aung Myin Company Limited.
Next, they visited a bicycle factory leased to Win & Win Co., Ltd., which manufactures a variety of footwear that is being exported to over 100 countries, including Europe.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister arrived at the Home Appliance Factory (Minsu) and inspected various home appliances made of steel, and production of various hospital equipment plus plastic products.—MNA
