Yangon mayor inspects water flow improvement tasks

Accompanied by the vice-mayor, the secretary, committee members and officials, Yangon City Development Committee-YCDC Chairman Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay made an inspection tour of water flow improvement works in Yangon yesterday.
First, the Yangon mayor and party went to the sluice gate of the Yepaukkyi Creek on Thanthuma Road in South Okkalapa Township and inspected the tasks of pumping water into the Ngamoeyeik Creek and cleaning activities around the gate, and fulfilled the necessities.
The mayor and party made the inspection tour of cleaning activities in the Kyaikkasan Creek in South Okkalapa Township, pumping water from the Kunapinlein Creek’s sluice gate by two flood control pumps that can pump 33 gallons of water per hour and cleaning activities in Tamway township.
Afterwards, the mayor inspected the repairing of the ground and fence of the Inner-Shukhintha staff housing in 10/South Ward of Thakayta Township, the construction of brick drainage retaining wall, cover slabs with manholes, road extension of the Engineering Department (Roads and Bridges) along the Shukhintha Road and cleaning activities on Shukhintha Road. —MNA
