Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials donated nutritious refreshments to fasting Muslims yesterday evening.
At Cholia Jamah Mosque on Bo Sun Pak Street in Pabedan Township, they were welcomed by the Chair of the mosque board of trustees Haji Jamar (aka) U Aung Thein and officials who clarified the fasting process.
The Chief Minister and ministers donated fruits and Royal-D drink donated by the Yangon Region government to 700 fasting Muslims individually and presented cash for refreshments.
Officials of the mosque accepted the donations and prayed for serving the interests of the State to be a peaceful and prosperous nation.
The Chief Minister and party also donated fruits and Sunkist soft drink tins to 400 fasting Muslims individually and cash for refreshments to the Chair of ‘Tachanpae’ Masjid on Upper Pansodan Street in Mingala Taungnyunt Township Haji Ibrahim (aka) U Zaw Win Naing and officials. — Hsan Kyaw Oo (IPRD)/TTA
