YU to open diploma course in applied geology

Yangon University is set to commence a one-year diploma course in applied geology for the academic year 2024-2025.
The course will cover a range of specialized subjects, including Economic and Mining Geology, Exploration Geochemistry, Exploration Geophysics, Gemology, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, and Petroleum Geology.
Prospective students interested in enrolling in any of these specialized courses must hold a bachelor’s degree in geology, be eligible for a Master’s degree, and be citizens of Myanmar. Government employees with a BSc in geology who are working in geology-related departments must have a minimum of two years of service and obtain official permission from the director-general or managing director. Applications must be submitted to the Student Affairs Department of Yangon University no later than 20 May. — TWA/MKKS
