108 Myanmar citizens repatriated from Malaysia’s immigration detention centres

Myanmar nationals are seen lining up for the repatriation process.

The Embassy of Myanmar in Kuala Lumpur stated that the 108 Myanmar detainees from four detention centres in Malaysia were sent back to Myanmar on 1 September.
Myanmar citizens, who were arrested in Malaysia with their sentences being served, were transferred to immigration centres. Only those who have complete identity information were sent back to Myanmar under the programme of the Myanmar Embassy.
In such doing, five persons from the KLIA Immigration Detention Centre, 13 persons from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Centre, 37 persons from the LangKap Immigration Detention Centre and 53 persons from the Bidor Immigration Detention Centre were arranged by the embassy to return to Myanmar by MAI relief flight.
Thirty-one persons were repatriated to Myanmar on 1 June, 215 persons on 9 June, 33 persons on 15 June, 55 persons on 16 June, 29 persons on 22 June and 75 persons on 29 June, totalling 438 persons. — TWA/GNLM
