109,851 students passed 2023 matric exam with 67.87% pass rate

A total of 109,851 students passed the matriculation examination in 2023, with a passing percentage of 67.87, according to statistics from the Myanmar Examinations Department of the Ministry of Education.
In the 2023 matriculation examination of the Department of Basic Education, there were 109,851 successful candidates out of 161,850 applicants in all regions and states, including foreign exam centres.
The Myanmar Examinations Department released the results at the schools in various regions and states at 6 am on 9 June. Likewise, notices have been published on the department’s website, www.myanmarexam.org since 4 am.
According to the Myanmar Examinations Department, Mandalay Region had the highest number of 16,018 students who passed the exam, followed by Yangon Region with 15,285, Ayeyawady Region with 13,630, Sagaing Region with 6,520, Taninthayi Region with 2,658, Nay Pyi Taw with 4,180, Bago Region with 8,531, Magway Region with 9,321, Kachin State with 7,075, Kayah State with 637, Kayin State with 1,665, Chin State with 2,045, Mon State with 4,172, Rakhine State with 9,964, Shan State with 8,230, and 10 from the foreign centres.
The results of examination centres in remote areas and those that do not have good internet connections are also being announced through the Myanmar Radio National Service. — TWA/CT
