According to the Road Transport Administration Department, there were 1,105 traffic accidents, resulting in 1,556 injuries and 585 deaths nationwide from January to March of 2024.
The most traffic accidents occurred in the Yangon region, totalling 206 incidents, leaving 249 hurt and 102 dead. Similarly, there were 44 traffic accidents on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, in which 29 died and 92 were wounded.
In the same period in 2023, a total of 1,263 traffic accidents occurred, with casualties of 674 deaths and 1,711 injuries. — TWA/TRKM
