A total of K500 million will be spent on construction of 12 rural roads in 12 townships in Mandalay Region in the 2022-2023 Financial Year, according to Rural Development Department in Mandalay Region.
That rural road development project is implemented spending K500 million allocated by regional government, with a view to minimizing agricultural waste, facilitate the transportation throughout the year and support the supply chain to meet the deadline. The project includes 12-foot 10 rural roads, said U Kyi Saw, director of the Rural Development Department.
“The regional budget will cover that project. The department will call for bidding soon. The project is to enhance the economic benefits of the farmers. The lack of rural road infrastructure maximizes the agricultural waste in adverse weather. That rural road department project will help the rural community get access to the market in all weathers,” he elaborated.
The project will cover Patheingyi, Kyaukse, Myittha, TadaU, Ngazun, Taungtha, Mahlaing, Meiktila, Wundwin, Pyawbwe, Yamethin, and Kyaukpadaung townships in the 2022-2023 Financial Year.—Maung Aye Chan/GNLM
