Union Minister for Labour inspects labour affairs issues

The MoL Union Minister and party inspect the training course for migrant workers who will work in foreign countries.

The opening ceremony of the on-the-job refresher course to build the capacity of district/township officials of the Ministry of Labour was held yesterday morning in Yangon. The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Labour U Myint Kyaing, Ethnic Affairs Minister of the Yangon Region Government U Saw Jacob Htoo, directors-general, trainers and trainees.
At the ceremony, the Union Minister said the refresher course aims to increase the efficiency of the department officials, make it easier for them to work in the field, and work in line with the rules and regulations. He called on them to use the knowledge gained from the course effectively in the area and effectively implement it so that workers can enjoy their full legal rights regularly.
Afterwards, the Union minister and party inspected the vocational training course for migrant workers conducted at the Skills Training School in Dagon Myothit (North) Township. He also checked the issuance of the Overseas Worker Identification Card-OWIC to migrant workers who will work in foreign countries and instructed to issue the OWIC cards correctly and promptly to those who meet the requirements.
Afterwards, the Union minister also observed the opening of IT business training at Pearl Yadana Vocational Training School under the COVID-19 preventive guidelines.
In the afternoon, the Union minister and party observed the electrical training and other courses conducted at the Thukhasusan services company. He then went to the Worker’s Hospital in Htantabin and inspected the expansion of wards for COVID-19 patients, quarantine centres, and adequate oxygen for the treatment of COVID-19 patients with the Oxygen Generating Plant (20 Nm3/h), and instructed on requirements. — MNA
