18th ASEAN-PAC Heads’ Meeting held, attended by ACC Chair-led Myanmar delegation

The Myanmar delegation led by Chairman U Than Swe of the Anti-Corruption Commission attended the 18th Principals’ Meeting of the ASEAN Parties Against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC) which was held at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, yesterday.
At the meeting, Vice-Chairman Mr Yonn Sinat of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) and Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Hun Sen gave welcoming speeches. Then, an Alternate Chairman of the ASEAN-PAC, ACU Chairman Mr Kittinitikosalbindit Om Yentieng made his opening speech.
The meeting was attended by heads of the anti-corruption agencies from ASEAN-PAC member countries and 59 representatives including Chairman U Than Swe of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Chairman U Than Swe signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the ASEAN-PAC along with ASEAN member countries.
Next, he met Chairman of ACU Cambodia Senior Minister Mr Kittinitikosalbindit Om Yentieng and signed the MoU after having a friendly and open discussion on cooperation in anti-corruption issues.
The MoU was signed between the two countries to exchange information regarding anti-corruption, perform corruption prevention processes such as surveys, corruption risk assessment and promoting integrity, and open technology-assisted professional courses. — MNA
