2023-2024 Inter-State/Region U-25 Men’s Football tourney kicks off

SAC members, Union ministers and officials open the 2023-2024 Inter-State and Region U-25 Men’s Football tourney yesterday.

An opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 Inter-State and Region U-25 Men’s Football Tournament was held at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
State Administration Council members, Union ministers, deputy ministers, officials, athletes and coaches joined the event.
During the ceremony, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, who is also the Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman, stated that state and regional youth football competitions were organized to improve the level of Myanmar football sports in Asia and ASEAN and to contribute the Myanmar national football team successful.
He added that the players need to follow the rules and play their best. Athletes then recited four sports pledges.
Next, the State Administration Council members and officials watched the first match played between the Kachin State team and the Taninthayi Region Team. With the aim of attracting new talented football players, the tourney will be held from 15 to 29 March, with participation of 13 men teams. All the football lovers can enjoy the matches for free. — MNA/KZL
