205,554 acres of summer paddy to be cultivated in Yangon Region

A total of 205,554 acres have been earmarked for summer paddy plantation in Yangon Region, according to the Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management of Yangon Region.
Rice has already been planted on 21,765 acres in Taikkyi Township, 12,927 acres in Hlegu, 3,689 acres in Hmawby, 14,071 acres in Htantabin, 303 acres in Mingaladon, 78 acres in Shwepyitha, 1,990 acres in Dagon Myothit Township, 3,967 acres in Thanlyin, eight acres in Kyauktan, 424 acres in Kayan, 31,414 acres in Twantay, 801 acres in Dala, 11,832 acres in Kawhmu and 11,036 acres in Kungyangon up to 15 January 2023 in Yangon Region.
Yangon Region has Ngamoeyeik dam, Paunglin dam, Mahuya dam, Kalihtaw dam, Lagunpyin dam, Tabuhla dam and Bantbwegon dam that can contribute to the improvement of the agricultural and livestock sector. — Nyein Thu (MNA)/KZW
