2nd coord meeting of Central Body for Summoning People’s Military Servants held

State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defence Admiral Tin Aung San, in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Body for Summoning People’s Military Servants, attended the 2/2024 coordination meeting of the central body in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, the Admiral said five out of ten points made in the first meeting were completed. The three points decided are the ones that should be carried out successively. Moreover, the working committee for Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and rules compiling comprising 15 members were organized, and the third draft of the rule was completed after two meetings. The SOPs were also drafted by cooperating with the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
He also talked about the formation of the chairman’s office committee of the Central Body for Summoning People’s Military Servants, township, district, self-administered zones and self-administered division committees for summoning people’s military servants, eight working committees regarding People’s Military Service Law, IT and record task force and settlement committee for people military servants in relevant posts.
He also highlighted the sending of Short Message Service (SMS) about the People’s Military Service Law by four Mobile Operators starting from 21 February, the distribution of 100,000 handouts by the Ministry of Information, news releases via MRTV, MWD, Radios, TV Spot, articles, editorial and announcement by the leader of SAC Information Team.
Then, the attendees discussed the work plans of respective working committees and the drafting of SOPs and the People’s Military Service Rule (third draft).
Next, the Admiral urged the participants to deliver the work plans and timetable made at the meeting to the committees on summoning people’s military servants of respective regions/states, self-administered zones and division, districts and townships as quickly as possible to work the measures as per the approved SOPs and conduct public awareness programmes. — MNA/KTZH
