The second round of the ASEAN Youth Debate 2022 was held yesterday morning and six young representatives from Myanmar participated in the virtual online system.
Aiming to achieve friendship and cooperation among young people in the ASEAN region, and organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, the event was held for the first time under the theme Addressing Challenges Together: ACT.
In yesterday’s (Second Elimination Round) match, the Singaporean team and the Cambodian team competed in each other under the title “We must create more job opportunities to develop the economy in the ASEAN region”.
The Myanmar team and the Indonesian team competed in the event under the theme “Climate change is the biggest threat to all mankind”.
Six Myanmar young representatives from Ministry of Information, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement participated in the Myanmar team (2).
The quarter-final matches will be held on 4 September and the semi-final match on 18 September via virtual format.
The final match will take place on 12 October and the awarding ceremony on 13 October in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.—MNA
