Chinese tourism market the best in Myanmar’s tourism sector

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung addresses opening of Chinese language course, ceremony to give medal of national level Enchanting Myanmar Health & Safety Protocols to hotels on 21 August.

The basic Chinese language course was conducted with the aim of understanding language, customs and traditions of Chinese tourists and providing the best services to them, said Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung at the opening ceremony of the course and the ceremony to present the medal recognized by Enchanting Myanmar Health & Safety Protocols at the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The Union minister continued to say that the Chinese tourism market is the best in the Myanmar’s tourism sector. Chinese tourists prefer to visit Bagan region, he added. The language courses were conducted in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw.
A total of 186 staff from hotels and lodges, 13 from restaurant association, 17 from tour guide association, 20 from tour transport entrepreneurs association, 20 from souvenir shops, 25 from Department of Archaeology and National Museum in Bagan, 11 from Directorate of Hotels and Tourism in Bagan and 10 from Lacquerware College.
The HSP national level medals recognized by Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol-HSP were given to 12 hotels in Bagan.
The ministry conducts the hotels and tourism service courses, basic computer technology course and languages courses in Nay Pyi Taw and other regions and states.—MNA
