437 monks to sit for 75th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination

The 75th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination will be held from 26 December 2022 to 27 January 2023, according to the Religious Affairs Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
The opening ceremony of the 33-day Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination will be organized at Maha Pasana Cave on the Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon on 26 December.
The opening ceremony and the examination session will be attended by 235 Sayadaws including two State Sangha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, 11 Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Ovadacariya Sayadaws, and monks who will sit for the exam.
A total of 437 monks — 250 monks for oral sessions and 187 monks for writing tests are registered, according to the department. There were 192 monks who took 74th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination (writing test) and one monk passed the Mula Abhidhamma Kovida while one for Dighanikayakovida, seven for Vinayakovida and 10 for Ubhatovibhanga Kovida in writing test.
The honouring ceremony of the 74th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida held on 22 May 2022 was attended by State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws led by Chairman Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa. During the event, Sayadaw delivered sermons with examples regarding the Pariyatti, Patipatti and Pativedha. — TWA/GNLM
