59th Anniversary of Road Transport held

Reviewing the strengths and weaknesses experienced through many years, staff are required to carry out their assignments unhesitatingly in accordance with the motto “Transport and communications towards national interests,” said Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San on the 59th anniversary of Road Transport held at the office of the Ministry of Transport and Communications yesterday morning.
The Union minister continued to say that Road Transport is an enterprise that is responsible for transportation of not only goods and passengers but also equipment and machinery for national plans and that building infrastructure, maintenance, economy, effective supervision, adoption of rules and regulations and capacity building of staff are the key requirements for the department to become a good and reliable transport service.
The Union minister spoke in honour of staff who perform their duties well and said that he put their services on record. Then, the Managing Director of Road Transport explained the history of the RT and the progress of work being implemented. Finally, the Union minister and deputy ministers awarded the first prizes to five outstanding employees and Good Public Service Medals to four employees. — MNA
