Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe views learning of students at Basic Education Primary School in Sittway on 26 June.

Currently, the Ministry of Electric Power electrifies wards and some villages of Sittway, Ponnagyun, Kyauktaw, MraukU and Myebon townships.
The maintenance of the 66 kV Ponnagyun-Rathedaung power cable is 56 per cent complete while 54 per cent for the 66 kV power cable of the Rathedaung-Buthidaung section and 47 per cent of village power cable.
Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe who is currently in Rakhine State to oversee the rehabilitation tasks, together with Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, and officials inspected the cleaning of fallen trees in Nandawun park in Sittway yesterday and instructed to make greening activities.
During the inspection on damage of Kyauktan bridge at 190th milepost on Sittway-An-Yangon highway, he stressed the needs to conduct repair works ensuring sustainability of the bridge.
On arrival at the basic education schools, the Union Minister checked progress of maintenance, peaceful learning of students and activities to keep schools clean.
Then, the Union Minister looked into 40-acre paddy plantation of the local station and called for growing high-yielding through double cropping system.
At noon, the Union Minister and party observed the soy milk feeding event to 375 students from BEHS No 2 in Baukthisu Ward in Sittway.
During the meeting with Board of Directors of Rakhine State Co-operative Union Ltd, the Union minister heard reports on the setup, work plan and activities for welfare of members and offered proper instructions regarding the promotion of agriculture, livestock and business being run under co-operative system that is suitable with the region.
Then, the Union Minister attended the coordination meeting on rehabilitation processes at Rakhine State government office. —MNA/KZTH
