77 elephant costume troupes parade Kyaukse Myoma Market in dummy elephant festival

The Elephant Dance Festival was held in the previous year in Kyaukse.

According to the organizing committee, the annual elephant dance festival in Kyaukse will be held on 28 October.
A total of 101 elephant dummies will participate in the festival; 77 of them will go around the Myoma Market, and three elephant dummies decorated with sequins will dance around the streets with modern music.
The elephant dance contest will be held in turns at the central pavilion (of scoring referee 1) in the elephant dance competition ground, the Shwethalyaung Buddhist Temple; the scoring referee 2 at the corner of Yangon-Mandalay Highway and TadaU; and the scoring referee 3 in the precinct of Lemyethna Pagoda.
A total of 17 elephant dummies will participate in the competition, and the winning teams will be awarded prizes and certificates of honour after the competition, according to the festival organizing committee. — TWA/CT
