ONE Championship’s heavyweight division world champion Brandon Vera of the Philippines said that he would do with all of his wills to defend the championship title, and he is also paying big respect to his next rival, Arjan Bhullar of India, during an interview with the ONE Championship.
Their upcoming ONE Heavyweight World Title defence will be held under the event named ONE: DANGAL at Singapore Stadium in Singapore on 15 May.
“I’m excited, and I’m nervous. I’ve been thinking about Arjan Bhullar for a long time. I’m excited to be able to have our contest finally,” Vera says.
“I respect Arjan — I’m giving him more respect than anybody else that I’ve faced because he’s the one standing in front of me. I want to find out what he’s got, I want to see how well he can take [what I’ve got], and I want to see if he can move with me,”Brandon Vera said.
Brandon Vera made his training camp at Sanford MMA together with the Burmese Python Aung La N Sang and Martin Nguyen.
“I have not trained as much wrestling or as much groundwork as I have since I’ve been here, so if we end up on the ground, then my ground game is there,” Vera said.
“He’s a very, very well-rounded opponent, and most people only talk about his wrestling. They don’t talk about boxing or his head movement, which is crazy to me, so that’s why I’m talking about it,” Vera added. —GNLM
