Govt to construct new bridges in An Township

The Ministry of Construction has constructed three bridges in An Township of Rakhine State. They are Kyweku Bridge on Tattaung road, Mintak Bridge on An-Mintak road and Ruchaung Bridge on Tattaung-Ru Village-Tamanduu. Currently, arrangements are being carried out to build An Creek Bridge that spans Layyinkwin Ward and Myaukbak Ward, according to Construction Team (2) of Bridge Department.
The 960 ft long and 30 ft wide Kyweku bridge can accommodate HI93, and the cost of the construction will be K4,800 million and K2,487 million for the approach road of the bridge. The construction works started on 1 October 2019 and were slated for completion in September 2022.
Similarly, Mintak Bridge with 400 ft in length and 20 ft in width can accommodate HS20-44, and it will cost K1300 million. The bridge was constructed on 3 May 2020 and slated for completion in September 2022.
The Ruchaung Bridge is 120 ft in length and 12 ft in width, and it can withstand 20 tonnes of truck. The estimated cost was K840 million. The construction was started on 1 June 2008 and expected to be completed in September 2021.
Moreover, the government made a plan to construct the An Creek Bridge, which is 720 ft in length and 30 ft in width, using K3,240 million.
If the construction works of these four bridges complete, they can promote the transportation and socio-economic status of the local populace, said the officials of Bridge Special Team (8) of the Bridge Department.—Win Ei Mon (IPRP)/GNLM
