A man injured by a homemade mine explosion was shot dead by rioters on the way to hospital on 13 May in Dawei Township, Taninthayi Region.
Three men were injured during the mine explosion in front of the house number (Ma/1076). Security forces searched the area, and an ambulance carried the injured persons to transport them to the Dawei General Hospital. When the ambulance arrived at the intersection of Daung Ngu bridge road and strand road, a group of 30 rioters stopped the ambulance, seized their phones and shot U Pe Than, 57, one of the injured persons, to his chest with a percussion lock firearm. He died on the way to the hospital.
It is reported that security forces are investigating the case to take action against the terrorists under the law. —MNA
