Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa, Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa (Thanlyin Minkyaung Monastery), Vice Chair of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (first branch committee) Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Nandasara (Thanbyuzayat), Joint Secretary Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Setthila (Pyay), Members of Sangha and officials of the Department of Religious Affairs met and comforted the monks sitting for the 73rd Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination held at Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill yesterday.
The exam has been holding since 1310 ME, and it reaches 73rd session in 1383 ME.
During 72 years, 15 monks received the title of Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida, and seven monks passed the oral examination of tri Pitakat treatises Tipitakadhara. A total of 72 monks sat for the exam held yesterday.
The 73rd Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination is being held between 17 and 21 May at Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill and a total of 171 monks are sitting for the exams.—MNA
