MoHT Union Minister heads to Indonesia for tourism conference

Officials see off Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine before the departure for Indonesia yesterday.

The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine departed for Indonesia yesterday to participate in the Second Conference on Empowering Women in Tourism in Asia and the Pacific at the invitation of Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Secretary-General of the United Nations Tourism Organization.
The conference, themed “Woman-Led Initiatives Shaping the Future of Inclusive and Sustainable Tourism”, will take place from 2 to 4 May at the Bali International Convention Centre (BICC) in Nusa Dua Bali.
Officials from the Yangon Region Directorate of Hotels and Tourism saw the Union minister and her delegation off at Yangon International Airport. Dr Thet Thet Khine will engage in a ministerial dialogue during the conference, which aims to spotlight women-led initiatives and their potential to foster growth and sustainability within the tourism sector. — MNA/TS
