MoPF holds meeting for natural disaster survey

The Ministry of Planning and Finance held a meeting on the National Disaster Management Committee’s Preliminary Needs Survey, Damage Confirmation and Needs Assessment Working Committee (1/2021) yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein addressed the meeting. Secretary of the Working Committee Director-General of the Central Statistical Organization presented the Working Committee’s implementation progress and natural disaster surveys to be conducted in 15 regions/states in 2021.
The Working Committee members discussed the implementation in respective regions and states, difficulties encountered, and natural disaster surveys to be carried out.
Afterwards, the Union Minister said to prepare for precautionary measures in order to minimize the impact of natural disasters, support the Central Committee following the duties and responsibilities of the Working Committee, liaise with State/Region Administration Council members on survey forms and activities, setup and train mobile teams, construct telecommunications networks, publish survey reports early and coordinate for accurate information and fund management.
The meeting was attended by members of the working committee from the relevant departments, secretaries of the region/state administration councils and officials from the Central Statistical Organization. — MNA
