Armed terrorists commit arson attack in Kinma village, Pauk Township

Armed terrorists attacked the security forces patrolling Kinma village, Pauk Township, Magway Region and set fire on the village houses.
When the security forces arrived at the Kinma village signboard while patrolling the village at around 11:10 am on 15 June, about ten armed terrorists attacked the security forces from the hill with guns and grenades. They retreated when the security forces retaliated against them.
Another armed attack happened when the security forces conducted a detailed search on the hill around 11:50 am.
When the security forces conducted necessary inspections around the area, they found fire in the village. The fire was extinguished at around 6 pm after they went and cooperated to put out the fire. According to the detailed investigation, a group of about 40 terrorists set fire on the house of U Kyaw Htay, located in front of the village high school, at around 2:50 pm and the fire spread other houses due to the wind.
Due to the arson attack, about 100 of 225 houses were destroyed by fire. Some media outlets and social media users have been covering the incident with the intention of misrepresenting the public and discrediting the security forces as if security forces had set fire to Kinma village.
Security forces are working to arrest and prosecute the terrorists who ambushed security forces and set fire to the home of peaceful civilian who did not support their acts of violence. —MNA
