Heavy rains and strong winds destroyed 24 houses in villages of Nyaungkon Chaungphya Village-tract, Einme Township, Myaungmya District, Ayeyawady Region on 20 June.
The rescue team from Township fire brigade, Myanmar Police Force, officials and villagers performed rescue operations at Akeyoe Village, Ohnbinsu Village, Thekon Village, Chaungphya Village in Nyaungkon Chaungphya Village-tract on the same day.
Officials provided family members in the villages with temporary accommodation at nearby relatives’ homes and cleared debris.
Due to heavy rains and strong winds, 13 trees fell on both sides of Einme-Dahka Road and blocked the road, and thus the township fire brigade carried out debris clearing operations.—Chit Thet Lei (Einme IPRD)/GNLM
