MoI discusses cybersecurity issues

The Ministry of Information organized a meeting over cybersecurity affairs as per the COVID-19 health rules yesterday.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint said cyberattacks are on the rise in the IT era. The cyber crimes and misuses are also increasing day by day when office-related matters, education, economy, COVID-19 educating programmes and statements are widely conducted online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cybersecurity knowledge and cybersecurity career paths are also needed for the youths and the development of human resources.
He then highlighted the aims of the meeting to provide certain knowledge for the staff to protect from cyberattacks against the Web Portal, computers and mobile phones of departments under the Ministry of Information.
Directors U Kyaw Swa Min of United Info-Sec Co., Ltd discussed the matters related to cybersecurity and cyber-attacks. —MNA
