Lashio markets reclosed to reduce COVID-19 infection

The shops from Lashio markets, which were permitted to reopen starting from 1 August, were closed again on 3 August to prevent the spread of the pandemic COVID-19 virus.
The markets that allowed reopening were Myoma Market in Lashio town, Mansu Market and Lashio Gyi Market. Only the basic food shops and the drug stores from those markets were permitted to open. All other shops, including clothing, electronics, other grocery shops, have not been allowed to reopen.
Due to the reopening of markets in Lashio, the people are being crowded in the market to buy their staff. That is the reason why the markets have been temporarily reclosed to prevent further spread.
Starting from 1 August, the basic food shops from Myoma Market in Lashio town, Mansu Market and Lashio Gyi Market have reopened their doors in line with current COVID-19 rules and regulations. Now, the shops were closed again to avoid crowding.
As of 1 August, about 1,812 patients from Lashio were found infected with the COVID-19 virus, resulting in 92 deaths while there were hospitalized, it is learnt. — ZYA/GNLM
