Union Election Commission probes into political parties

The Union Solidarity and Development Party is under probe by the UEC.

The Union Election Commission looked into the political parties whether they conducted systematically for the memberships of the parties, party funds and property, savings, maintaining, usage, audition and liquidation and parties’ procedures according to the Union Election Law Section 10 (l) “supervising, causing to supervise and guiding the political parties to carry out in accord with the law”.
The UEC inspected USDP at the Union Territory election subcommission office in Ottarathiri Township and Union Betterment Party (UBP) at Ottara District election sub- commission office starting 31 August.
The inspection team included officials of UEC, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Finance and Union Auditor-General Office. — MNA
