MoHT hosts delegation from Eurasian Economic Commission

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine received a delegation led by Mr Sergey Glazyev, Member of the Board — Minister in Charge for Integration and Macroeconomics Eurasian Economic Commission, at the ministry yesterday.
Both sides engaged in friendly and open discussions regarding tourism cooperation between Russia, a member of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Myanmar, potential signing of a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation, close collaboration between the public and private sectors of both countries in promoting tourism and implementing tourism development initiatives, the possibility of signing memorandums of understanding on tourism cooperation with other countries within the Eurasian Economic Commission, potential investments from these countries in Myanmar’s hotels and toursim sector, the sharing of travel promotion information, the development of sports and adventure tourism, facilitating visits to Myanmar by travellers from commission member countries, airline flight operations, payment convenience issues, and the development of digital tourism.
Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe, the permanent secretary, the director-general, and senior officials were also present at the meeting. — MNA/TRKM
