Outstanding students from regions and states came to study at the National Museum in Nay Pyi Taw.

All museums nationwide under Department of Archaeology and National Museum will be open for free on 18 May (International Museum Day), according to U Aung Aung Kyaw, director of Department of Archaeology and National Museum.
Additionally, the International Museum Day ceremony will be held for the 9th time in Myanmar on 18 May at the National Museum in Nay Pyi Taw.
“Myanmar participates in the International Museum Day celebration to educate the youth about the value of museums as centres for imparting knowledge about cultural heritage and to foster the growth of mental culture concurrently with the rise in the number of museum visitors and the expansion of physical culture,” stated U Aung Aung Kyaw.
There are a total of 22 museums under the Department of Archeology and National Museums across the country and the National Museum is opened in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw.
Since these displays are priceless national treasures that connect Myanmar’s past and present, the country’s museums are home to a plethora of unique collections that reflect both Myanmar’s and other histories. Similarly, Myanmar’s museums bear witness to the inventiveness and prosperity of Myanmar nationals. — ASH/MKKS
