Dutifully combat transnational crimes in internal and international arenas

Article

The transnational crimes bring only disadvantages on security measures to relevant countries and citizens but terror acts complicated in the transnational crimes can impose threats on the standing of relevant countries.
As such, it is necessary to eliminate terrorism in transnational crimes not to emerge the chances for terrorists to commit terror crimes. It is because the terror acts are more atrocity than ordinary transnational crimes such as arms smuggling, drugs trafficking and human trafficking. So, Myanmar deploys its security forces on combating the transnational crimes along the borders shared with the People’s Republic of China, Laos, Thailand, India and Bangladesh.

That is why not only the government but the entire national people should participate in combatting transnational crimes in all forms along with borderlands and inland areas as a national duty.

In its historical background, Myanmar showed off its prowess in combating the terrorists in the transnational crimes, arresting the actual suspects and seizing the materials related to the crimes. The country saved many human trafficked victims, a large volume of various narcotic items such as heroin, opium and stimulants worth billions of US dollars on a yearly basis.
However, the above-mentioned three kinds of crimes that often break out along the borders between Myanmar and relevant neighbours are interrelated. As such, officials from various sectors should join hands in fighting against transnational crimes.
Nowadays, as terrorists utilize the digital platform to easily incite terror attacks on other sectors, ASEAN member states need to adopt an action plan on security and technical cooperation in the cyber arena in addition to further cooperation among them while striving for suppressing the transnational crimes based on their responsibility and enhancing the exchange of information on crimes.
Concerted efforts must be made for beefing up the border management and effective exchange of information as the fake news remarkably and speedily spread rather than the true news in the advancement of technology, causing the surge of extremist attitudes. Hence, a special emphasis must be placed on combatting cybercrimes.
Myanmar pledges to serve its assigned duties and obligations for the successful establishment of the ASEAN Community, with readiness to cooperate with other ASEAN member states to perform the tasks for ensuring regional security, peace and stability and prosperity of the region.
That is why not only the government but the entire national people should participate in combatting transnational crimes in all forms along with borderlands and inland areas as a national duty.
