Myanmar’s COVID-19 death toll reports nearly 300 in Oct first week

The COVID-19 pandemic caused nearly 300 deaths in Myanmar in the first week of October, with around eight per cent of cases reported, the Ministry of Health stated.
The COVID-19 testing positivity rate was recorded at 7.83 per cent on 1 October, 6.67 per cent on 2 October, 8.3 per cent on 3 October, 7.68 per cent on 4 October, 8.41 per cent on 5 October, 8.42 per cent on 6 October and 7.44 per cent on 7 October, respectively.
The tally of COVID-19 casualties reached a total of 299 people in Myanmar, including 54 people on 1 October, 46 on 2 October, 48 on 3 October, 38 on 4 October, 36 on 5 October, 41 on 6 October and 36 on 7 October, respectively.
The number of COVID-19 deaths reported in the country at the end of September decreased as compared to early September, with a total of 2,346 deaths.
The number of COVID-19 cases has risen up again in Myanmar since 27 May. Daily infections have also significantly increased around 100-1,500 cases in Myanmar in June when the third wave of COVID-19 begins.
More than 2,000 to 6,000 people were approximately infected daily in July. The infection and death rates have dropped. But it has not declined significantly. Some are treating themselves at their homes covertly. Many people died in every region and state due to the suspicion of COVID-19, according to philanthropic organizations.
The death toll from COVID-19 in Myanmar dropped after 5 August, but the infection rate is still around 30 per cent, according to the Ministry of Health.
