Construction of Thakhut River Bridge completed

The construction of the Thakhut River Bridge is now completed, it is learnt.
The bridge is located on the road of Dala-Thakhut-Letkhokkon-Kanyinkon connecting Dala township and Kawmhu township, Yangon region.
The bridge construction project was started in the 2019-2020 financial year and it was developed by the construction task force-3, the Bridge Department under the Ministry of Construction.
The bridge is a section of the road that is used by many vehicles daily. It is also major access for transporting goods.
Earlier, the old Thakhut River Bridge has started its construction in 1991. Due to the longevity and weakening of the bridge, the new Thakhut River Bridge was constructed. The bridge is 24 feet wide and 495 feet long, flanked by three feet and six inches wide pedestrian walkways. The reinforced concrete and steel girder bridge is constructed with spending of K 2,503 million.
So far, the new Thakhut River Bridge has now completed 100 per cent. The bridge will be able to connect Dala, Kawmhu and Kungyangon townships from the Yangon District (South).
Upon completion of the bridge project, local people will have easy access and the bridge will accomplish the basic requirement of the local people for regional development and transportation.
It will also greatly help the socio-economic life travelling and trade flow. — Thuta/GNLM
