The transactions of the charms, decoration materials and utensils made of petrified wood (Ingyin Kyauk) operate normally online in Sagaing Region.
“The sales of lucky charm products such as tortoise that brings money, scimitar for safety, facial massage plates for girls, massaging balls for stroke patients and massaging stick are in good condition as normal,” said U San Moe Aung, an owner of the KSM Monywa Jewellery Shop.
It costs between K15,000 and K20,000 for nine tortoise motifs, K5,000 per scimitar and between K4,000 and K8,000 per massaging ball.
The transactions of tiger motif, elephant motif, cup and ash tray are lower than the normal sale and the shop owners also face a slack period.
“I have raw materials that I can use for next ten years. We suspend the procurement in the first wave of COVID-19. We can buy raw materials even now,” said U San Moe Aung. —Myo Win Tun (Monywa)/GNLM
