Once, the Lord Buddha had preached eleven kinds of fire in the vicious circle: the fire of lust, the fire of anger, the darkness of ignorance, the root cause of rebirth, the fire of decrepitude, the time of death, the fire of sorrow, the fire of lamentation, the fire of suffering, the fire of grief and the fire of tribulation.
These are universal truths that all the living beings including humans are facing before attaining the Nibbana and are struggling in the vicious circle of life afterlife. The life of humans cannot embrace pleasure, peace and prosperity until they cannot put out these kinds of fire.
Hence, the people of Myanmar, most of whom believe in Buddhism need to emphasize the measures of putting out the fire but such kinds of fire must be tangible and intangible ones. The tangible fire can be seen in the fuels at the outbreak of fire. Such fire brings heat to destroy the life and property of the people. Such a fire can be put off with the use of fire extinguishers.
But the intangible fire cannot be put down by the water. Such kind of fire causes flames in the soul of living beings, especially human beings. Only when the hosts put out the eleven kinds of fire preached by the Lord Buddha more than 2500 years ago will they be free from the flames of the vicious circle and will they attain the Nibbana.
The tangible fire can reduce all things into ashes in a short time. It is a loss for just life. The intangible fire can spark flames in the vicious circle, facing endless loss.
Now is summer. Everybody should take care of both tangible and intangible fires in society. Necessary preparations must be made for the prevention of tangible fire with the gathering of fire extinguishers and giving training to the youths to form the firefighter troops to protect the society to be free from the danger of such a fire.

For the time being, all people need to avoid the misdeeds and wrongdoings which may fuel the flames of intangible fire. They all should perform meritorious deeds but evil acts by forging the best nature of spirits, compassion, loving-kindness, sympathy, rejoicing for others’ success and equanimity. If so, all the people can escape from both tangible and intangible fires forever.
