Drugs seized in Maungtaw, Pinlaung, Muse townships

A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force conducted inspections in Maungtaw Township at 11 pm on 13 March.
A search of a three-wheeled motorbike driven by Ayuk Khan near Basuba village turned up 87,750 ecstasy tablets worth K131.625 million.
At 5:30 pm that day, a search of a Honda CRV vehicle driven by Kyaw Shwe on the Pinlaung-Hmawby Road near Kyauktan Village, Naungpi Village-tract led to the seizure of 169,000 ecstasy tablets.
At 12:30 pm that day, officials stopped and searched a Toyota Crown saloon driven by Yan Shao Hong (alias) Arr Rhan on the detour Road, Kaungmuton Ward, Muse Township and found 20,000 tablets of ecstasy together with 0.22 kilogramme of heroin.
They are prosecuted under the Narcotic-Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the Myanmar Police Force. — MNA
